How do I enter?
Go to 'Enter Competition' page and follow the simple process instructions. An overview of the process is given below:-
- Firstly, select Enter Competition above. Review competition details and then select 'Enter Competition' to proceed to play Spot the Ball
- Secondly, play Spot the Ball. Look at the picture and use skill and judgement to identify which box you think the judges will decide the hidden ball is located in. You need to confirm that you are over 18 to enter the competition and that you agree to the Terms and Conditions. Once you have chosen your location select "Add to Cart". To select another location repeat this process. Once complete, select "Checkout" to proceed. You are limited to 5 tickets per transaction.
- Finally, enter your contact details and select 'Place Order' to progress to secure online payment.
- You will receive a confirmation email from us confirming your ticket(s) purchase.
Can residents outside the UK enter?
Yes the prize competition is open to residents outside the UK – please ensure that your entry to this prize competition is lawful in the country where you reside.
How many times can I enter?
There is a limit of 5 tickets per registration. Each ticket purchased with the correct answer increases your chance of being the winner. You may register more than once.
How much are tickets?
Entries are £5 each plus a non-refundable transaction fee of 5% per transaction
Can I pay offline?
No, we are unable to take offline payments
Is this competition legal?
Yes. A law firm specialising in gambling law has confirmed that the prize competition is legal and that no licence is required to operate it in Great Britain due to the level of skill involved.
What are the prizes?
The prize is fully defined in the terms and conditions. The house includes the main Elizabethan hall and attached Victorian cottage and gardens/lake surrounding the property. All furnishing and fittings are included along with £50,000 cash. Standard stamp duty land tax (but not second home stamp duty land tax) as set out in the terms and conditions and reasonable legal fees to transfer the property to the winner are included as part of the prize.
Do I have to be over 18?
What happens if not enough tickets are sold?
If the target value as stated in the terms and conditions is not met by the competition deadline, the competition promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a cash alternative which will be equal to the total amount of payments received minus reasonable administrative costs, not to exceed 25% of net payments received
Is this a lottery?
No. Specialist legal advice has been obtained to ensure this is a Prize Competition and not a lottery. Only by purchasing a ticket and exercising skill and judgment will successful entrants be entered into a draw to win the house.
How will the winners be chosen?
A panel of experts will select the location of the polo ball. All entries that have chosen the same grid location as the expert panel will be entered into a draw, managed by an impartial adjudicator. The impartial adjudicator will select the winner at random using a computer driven randomisation algorithm.
When will the draw take place?
On the 3rd April 2019 or when the target value has been met; whichever comes first.
How will winners be notified?
The winner will be notified within 24 hours of the draw using the correspondence details they entered when registering for the prize competition.
Can the winner of the main prize sell the property?
Yes. Winning the competition means the property is legally theirs to do with what they like.
Will the winner have to pay stamp duty or a mortgage?
No – with the exception of second home stamp duty land tax if they already own a property in the UK.
Is the house leasehold or freehold?
Why are we doing this?
The owners have decided to relocate due to personal health issues and have chosen to do so via a house prize competition.
Where is the property?
The property is located in Tarporley, Cheshire. Tarporley is around 15 minutes drive to Chester City Centre, and 40 minutes drive to both Manchester and Liverpool City Centres.
What happens if my answer is incorrect?
Only correct answers to the Competition are entered into the final draw to win Burton Hall
